1st EUROPA DONNA Metastatic Breast Cancer Advocacy Training Course – 28-30 September 2018- Milan-Italy

EUROPA DONNA is pleased to announce the launch of its 1st Europa Donna MBC Advocacy Training Course 28-30 September 2018 in Milan.  Europa Donna has received a SPARC grant administered by the Union for International Cancer Control along with general operating support from our ongoing funders to provide this course which will be held in conjunction with the 5th ED Advocacy Leader Conference.  As a member of the ABC Global Alliance, we feel that conducting this training and bringing together MBC advocates is essential in 2018, and will be important in ensuring the development of advocacy activities on behalf of women with MBC.  The conference will be open to MBC advocacy leaders from ED as well as from other organisations located in Europe as defined by the World Health Organisation. Their travel and subsistence costs will be paid by ED.*
The MBC Advocacy training course will involve a weekend-long exchange of ideas, experience and best practice.  On Friday, an Opening Session will kick off the event followed by dinner and networking.  Saturday morning sessions will be combined with the advocacy leaders and in the afternoon the MBC trainees will have sessions specifically dedicated to them. On Sunday, we will hold intensive advocacy skills training workshops which have been designed specifically for this programme. Advocates will gain experience in public speaking and telling their personal stories; some videos will be produced and posted on our website.
Please note: If you attended the 1st ED MBC Advocacy Conference in June 2017 you are not eligible for this training course.
Conference participants will be selected on a competitive basis. In order to apply, full applications should be submitted by 1 June 2018 to conference@europadonna.org and should include the following:

After the conference, each participant will be asked to provide a summary of next steps and a report after three months on work undertaken as a result of the conference.
