Europa Donna – Advocacy Training Course 2025

What an incredible weekend! From 28 to 30 March, we welcomed over 80 passionate advocates from 35 countries to Milan for the 2025 Advocacy Training Course.

This year’s course was filled with energy, inspiration, and knowledge. Esteemed lecturers, including Bettina Borisch, Maria João Cardoso, Eva Negri, Ines Vaz-Luis, and Fiorita Poulalaki, Europa Donna’s Vice President, led discussions on breast cancer epidemiology, risks, prevention, treatment, research, EBA, and advocacy skills. A major highlight was the surge of young advocates, bringing fresh energy and determination to the movement. Their enthusiasm is inspiring—we are witnessing a generational shift in advocacy, with new voices eager to connect, learn, and collaborate internationally to drive change at home. This, however, also highlights a concerning trend: breast cancer is increasingly affecting younger Europeans, making proactive action for awareness and early detection more vital than ever. We also welcomed a male breast cancer patient from Malta, determined to advocate for men impacted by the disease. His experience underscored the lack of available information, the stigma, and the urgent need for awareness.

Welcoming nearly 70 new advocates into the Europa Donna family, we are grateful to all who made this event a success! Together, we are shaping a stronger, more impactful future for breast cancer advocacy and care.
