European launch of Mission Early’s Call to Action for Better Early Cancer Care
Europa Donna was well represented by our Vice President Ingrid Krücken at the European Parliament during the high-level roundtable Beating Cancer Early: From Evidence to Action on 19th March, organised by Mission Early. Mission Early is the global policy initiative championing early cancer care. Its mission is to increase early cancer detection and treatment globally by bringing together organizations and individuals across sectors who share this ambition.
At the event, Ingrid took the floor to contribute to discussions on advancing early cancer care across Europe. The roundtable, opened by MEP Tomislav Sokol (EPP) and MEP Nicolas Gonzalez Casares (S&D), highlighted strong cross-party commitment to embedding early cancer care into European policy frameworks. Five years into Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, the roundtable focused on a critical question: how to fully integrate early cancer care into practice.
According to Ingrid: Europa Donna’s role in this conversation is clear: translating political decisions, screening programmes, and early detection strategies into measured equity data – so that the barriers patients face become visible, quantifiable, and actionable. Because what we can measure, we can change. And what we can change, we can make equitable. And patient organisations don’t only need a seat at the table, We need to co-design the table.
