DEFINITIVE Trial Research Presented at ESMO Breast in Berlin

Europa Donna is proud to contribute to the DEFINITIVE clinical trial, an important European Commission-funded project focused on improving personalised treatment decisions for people with early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer.

The trial aims to show whether using the HER2DX® diagnostic assay to guide treatment decisions can help improve quality of life, without affecting outcomes or survival rates, while also helping to reduce healthcare costs.

Europa Donna leads the work dedicated to ensuring that the patient perspective is represented throughout the trial.

The DEFINITIVE project was recently featured at the ESMO Breast Cancer 2026 Congress in Berlin. On 7 May, Giorgia Rapesta of the Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam, presented a poster entitled “Health policy and real-world strategies in early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer: results from an international survey within the DEFINITIVE project.”

The poster shared findings from an international survey of 116 oncologists from 38 countries, offering valuable insight into current health policy and real-world clinical strategies for managing early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer across Europe.
