HTA Stakeholder Network Working Group on Identification of Patients and Clinicians, online

In 2026, Europa Donna is continuing its engagement in the European Commission Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Stakeholder Network, which aims to facilitate dialogue between stakeholder organisations, the European Commission and the Member State Coordination Group. The Network plays an important role in supporting the effective and shared implementation of the EU HTA mission.

On 7 May, Europa Donna CEO Marzia Zambon took part in an online meeting of the Stakeholder Network Working Group on the Identification of Patients and Clinicians. The meeting focused on the current status of identifying and involving patients and clinicians in joint HTA work, as well as the involvement of patients and clinicians in Joint Clinical Assessments for medical devices and in vitro diagnostic medical devices. Participants also received an update from the Working Group for individual expert templates within the JCA Subgroup.

Key points from the meeting included the welcome increase in clinician nominations, the value of more detailed information on the geographical coverage of patients and clinicians by disease area, and the important role of carers in joint work. Participants also highlighted the need to clarify whether carers, as well as non-EU patients and clinicians, can be involved in the process.

In mid-May, Europa Donna Vice President Ingrid Krücken was accepted as a new member of the HTA Stakeholder Network Working Group and will henceforth serve alongside Marzia Zambon.
